Both Emmy and Digby have been involved in psychotherapy training for many years. Their newest venture is providing psychotherapy courses over the internet. These courses are may taken as part of the MA in Existential Psychotherapy at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, in London; or may lead to an MSc at the University of Sheffield. Check out Psychotherapy Training on the Net for further information. Emmy set up the first existential psychotherapy training in the UK in 1982, at Antioch University. Subsequently the course moved and expanded. Firstly, to Regent's College, and most recently to the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, in Waterloo, London. Digby created the first UK qualification in group psychotherapy by block training, and the first group psychotherapy training which also led to a Masters degree. This course is now affiliated to the Institute of Group Analysis in London, and is validated by Oxford Brookes University. Digby founded the Universites Psychotherapy and Counselling Association, after a suggestion by Emmy, and both have chaired the UPCA as well as chairing the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. The UPCA is actively involved in accrediting courses, and accredits both the New School's courses and the Turvey Group Psychotherapy courses.
